If you're planning to come to Goa for a holiday with your spouse, buddies, classmates, colleagues, relatives or family and want clean, comfortable and affordable serviced apartments, you can go through this blog.

This blog is about two of our 2BHK serviced apartments located side by side on the same floor (first). One is an ac apartment and the other is a non ac apartment.

BHK stands for bedroom (s), hall (sitting room or living room) and kitchen.

This is not a resort and our property does not have a swimming pool. Clean Benaulim beach is there 1km away.

These are simple budget and not luxurious service apartments. You'll get a clean apartment with clean linen (bedsheets, pillow cases and blankets) and an equipped kitchen for a comfortable stay.

Where to stay in Goa?

If you're on a shoe-string budget, you can stay in the Ashirwaad Holiday Apartments building.

This is a nice budget property offering convenience, privacy and space near Colva, Benaulim and Varca beaches in South Goa.

It has two 2BHK service apartments which will give you a "home away from home" feeling. Each 2BHK apartment can take up to 6 people. We are flexible and can accommodate more people too.

"Ashirwaad" in Hindi means "blessings." We put this name for our property because God Almighty has blessed us with it.

The Lord is always good. He is always loving and kind, and His faithfulness goes on and on to each succeeding generation (Psalm 100: 5 - The Holy Bible).

Advantages of staying in a service apartment

The advantages of staying in a service apartment during a holiday are that you:
1. Get more space
In a service apartment you get a bedroom or two and a sitting / living room plus balconies. There will be a cupboard where you can keep your clothes or a loft where you can keep your baggage so the place doesn't look messy.

2. Get your own kitchen
This is good if you're a vegetarian or have kids. Even if you're a non vegetarian, by cooking meals yourself, you can save a lot of money as food in restaurants is expensive. Also, in restaurants, the quality of food may be bad or the quantity less.

3. Get privacy
There is no one to disturb you. When you check in, the Property Manager will tell you when the housekeeping person will come for cleaning (if you stay for more than 3 nights on our property) so you won't hear a knock on the door when you are taking a shower or a nap.

4. Get a homely ambiance
In a service apartment you'll feel as if you're at home with all the necessary household items and furniture.

5. Get to stay together with your friends and family
Up to 8 of can stay in a service apartment which brings the cost down by a lot. You can sit in the sitting room and have a time of bonding with family or friends by watching a movie, having drinks or simply chatting.

6. Get to wash and hang your clothes to dry
If the PWD is not doing maintenance work on the days you're here, if you stay in one or both our budget 2BHK apartments, you can hand wash your clothes in the buckets in the bathroom and put them to dry in the balconies. This means that you don't have to carry a mountain of smelly dirty clothes soaked in salty sea water in your suitcase / bag on your way home.

Facilities and Tariff

The non ac 2BHK serviced apartment has:
* 1 bedroom with a double bed, a cupboard, a fan and a balcony
* 1 bedroom with a double bed, a fan and a balcony. This bedroom doesn't have a cupboard but there is lot of space to hang clothes on a rod
* 2 mattresses (fold able cotton ones) for placing on the floor for the 5th and 6th persons
* 1 living room with a sofa and a balcony. There is no TV. It can be seen in the YouTube video embedded on this blog but it has been removed permanently.
* 1 equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, dinnerware (plates, cups, and glasses), a gas stove with two burners, and basic cooking utensils.
* Only 1 bathroom with a commode which is common to both the bedrooms.

The ac 2BHK serviced apartment has:
* 1 bedroom with a double bed, a cupboard, a fan, and a 1 ton split ac unit. This bedroom does not have a balcony.
* 1 bedroom with a double bed, a fan, a 1 ton split ac unit, and a balcony. This bedroom does not have a cupboard but there is space to hang clothes on a rod
* 2 mattresses (fold able cotton ones) for placing on the floor for the 5th and 6th persons
* 1 living room with a sofa and a balcony. There is no TV. It can be seen in the YouTube video embedded on this blog but it has been removed permanently.
* 1 equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, dinnerware (plates, cups, and glasses), a gas stove with two burners, and basic cooking utensils.
* Only 1 bathroom with a commode which is common to both the bedrooms.

The cupboard is for keeping clothes only and doesn't have a safe deposit locker.

There is no washing machine or dish washer in either of the apartments. You'll have to hand wash your clothes and do the dishes (clean the kitchen vessels) yourself.

Water for bathing can be heated using a handi (vessel) on the gas stove in the kitchen. There is no solar heater or geyser.

There is no power back up.

There is no Wi-Fi (free or paid).

Note: ac usage only between 7PM and 7AM and not during the day. Or you can feel free to use the ac unit for 12 hours in a day (in a 24 hour period) whenever you want.

There may be network connectivity issues with some mobile service providers when inside the apartment. This is due to the shortage of mobile towers in our village.

This particular pink colored building has only one floor. Two 2BHK serviced apartments are on the first floor and on the second floor is a covered terrace.

Each 2BHK serviced apartment can take up to 6 members of a family or group comfortably. 4 can sleep on two double beds and 2 on mattresses placed on the floor. We'll provide linen (bedsheets, pillows and a sheet to pull over the body) to all.

We can take max 8 persons in each of these 2BHK apartments. In other words, 16 persons totally.
Hence, they are ideal for groups or families coming down to Goa for a holiday.

Tariff from 1st July - 31st August, 2022:

For 1 or 2 people: Rs.1750/- (non ac) and Rs.2250/- (ac)

For 3 or 4 people: Rs.2250/- (non ac) and Rs.2750/- (ac)

For 5 or 6 people: Rs.2750/- (non ac) and Rs.3250/- (ac)

This means that if just 2 persons come during this period, the cost of the whole apartment will be Rs.1750/- per night without ac and Rs.2250/- with ac. If 3 or 4 members of a family or group come, it'll cost Rs.2250/- totally without ac and Rs.2750/- with ac and if 5 or 6 members come, it'll cost Rs.2750/- totally without ac and Rs.3250/- with ac.

- If more than 6 persons come, Rs.250/- will be charged per night for every extra person on all days.

- Children who are 2 years and above are counted as persons.

- For using the kitchen it will cost Rs.500/- extra per day whether you cook breakfast or all meals.

- When only 2 persons come, one bedroom is kept locked so it becomes a 1BHK apartment.

- If you block (book) an apartment for certain number of nights and want to shorten your stay due to any reason, after sending the advance amount, if we are not able to get other guests for the canceled date (s) later, then, on arrival (when you check in), you will have to pay the full amount for the canceled date (s) which you had blocked earlier.
After you check in, if you have to shorten your stay due to any reason, a refund will not be given for the canceled dates.
This is because, once we block the dates for you, we tell all others who inquire that the apartment is not available on those dates.

Please remember that the 2BHK apartment has only 1 bathroom.

These apartments are ideal for families, honeymoon couples, married couples, company employees, backpackers, groups of friends or for groups of students looking to come down here for a vacation.

Check in and check out policies:

- The check in time is 11AM and the check out time is 8AM on the next day.

- Early check in before 11AM but after 7AM, is possible, at no extra charge, if an apartment isn't booked by other guests on the previous day.

- Late check out is chargeable. It'll cost half a day's charge if you check out anytime between 8AM and 3PM and a full day's charge if you check out after 3PM.

- If you reach Goa in the morning before 11AM and if there is a booking on the previous day by other guests, you'll be able to check into the apartment at 11AM only. This is because the guests staying in the apartment will check out at the official time of 8AM and we'll need two hours to clean it, and get it ready for you.

- If you don't want to wait, and want to check in immediately after you reach Goa, you can block the apartment for the previous day in advance (while blocking the dates for your holiday), by paying the full day charge for the previous day.

- On the day you need to leave Goa, if your train, bus or flight is after the check out time or in the afternoon or evening it'll be good if you continue in the apartment after the check out time and pay the charge applicable in order to be comfortable as we don't charge a fortune. You can also hire a car or Tempo, load your luggage in it at 8AM, go for sightseeing and tell the driver to drop you directly at the bus / railway station / airport after the tour.

- If you arrive in the afternoon, evening or even after midnight, you'll still need to pay the whole day charge as the apartment will be kept ready for you from 11AM.

Tell the drivers that you need to be dropped in front of Maria Hall in Benaulim. Maria Hall (a wedding hall for over 40 years) is a famous landmark in the whole of South Goa. Our building is opposite it.

* From Madgaon Kadamba Bus Depot - Take a taxi, auto rickshaw (tuk tuk) or board a local bus
From the Madgaon Kadamba Bus Depot, you can sit in a bus going either to Cavelossim beach or to Colva beach (There are buses running to Cavelossim or Colva every 15 mins) and get down at Maria Hall. The fare is just Rs.20 per person.

* If you're driving - Come straight to Madgaon town and ask for the road to Maria Hall in Benaulim. GPS users can type "Ashirwaad Holiday Apartments, Benaulim" and you'll end up right at our door step. Our property is there on Google Maps.

How to book:
You'll need to send a booking amount which is equal to a day's rent in advance to get a booking confirmed if your booking is for 3 nights or less. The balance amount will need to be given on arrival (when you check in and sign the register; when we hand over the keys of the apartment to you) and not when you check out. You can send the booking amount to our bank account using NEFT or IMPS.

For a stay of more than 3 nights, you'll need to send 50% of the total amount in advance.

Please call us up to get our bank account number sent to you via a sms or an email so you can send a day's rent to get a booking confirmed.

Once we receive the booking amount, we will send a booking confirmation message via a sms or an email.

A booking will not be confirmed if money isn't sent in advance. If you don't want to send money in advance, you can call us up when you reach Goa to find out if an apartment is available and then come.

Travel agents and wedding groups have to send the full amount in advance to get a booking confirmed. This amount is not refundable under any circumstances even if there is a cancellation soon after sending it.

The price may go up on a long weekend. An advance booking won't be affected by a price raise because of a long weekend.

Refunds:
This is a small property with just two 2BHK serviced apartments, therefore, regretfully, if there is a cancelation under any circumstances (like sickness, loss of a loved one, accidents, natural disasters, train, bus or flight cancelation, vehicle breakdown etc.) after sending the advance (soon after sending the advance amount or later) we will not be able to give a refund. And no future holiday will be offered. You can come again on a holiday, but you'll have to send an advance amount again.
