Frequently asked questions

Are meals included in the tariff?
No. A kitchen is there in each apartment which you can use to cook by getting food stuff from grocery stores nearby. If you don't want to cook, no problem. There are many affordable restaurants nearby.

Is there a swimming pool on this property?
No, there isn’t.

Is there a geyser in the bathroom?
No. Water for bathing gets heated via solar panels. Water for bathing can also be heated using a handi (vessel) on the gas stove in the kitchen in the rainy season or if the water in the solar heated tank gets over.

Do we have to get sheets to keep us warm at night?
You don't. You'll be given a blanket which you can pull over your body when you sleep at night.

How often are the bedsheets changed?
The linen (bedsheets, blankets, and pillow cases) is changed, the floor of the apartment scrubbed and the bathroom cleaned after every 3 nights and NOT daily.

So this means that if you come and stay for just 3 nights or less than 3 nights, then, you'll get a clean apartment with clean linen on the day you come and the linen will NOT be changed and the apartment / bathroom will NOT be cleaned throughout the duration of your stay.

A broom and a dust pan are kept in the apartment for collecting sand particles so it can remain clean even after coming back from the beach.

Garbage collection is done everyday.

Do you provide toiletries?
No. You'll need to get bring your own toiletries (soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, deo, mouthwash, shampoo, talcum powder, razor, shaving cream, after shave lotion, skin cream etc). You'll also need to bring your own towels.

What's the provision that you have for drinking water?
The water coming from the taps is rain water which gets accumulated in lakes during the monsoon season and is treated and sent by the government. You can drink it directly (all restaurants in Goa serve this water), or boil it using one of the handis (vessels) kept in the kitchen. If you don't want to take a risk by drinking un boiled water or trouble in boiling it, you can buy 5 or 20 litre mineral water pet bottles from grocery stores in the neighborhood.

How can we go for sightseeing?
Regarding transportation for sightseeing, you have three options:
Option 1: You can go for a North or South Goa tour in one of the government organized tour buses. The boarding points for the tours are the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) hotels located in Madgaon town and on Colva beach.
Madgaon town is 10 mins away by bus and Colva beach is 5 mins away by bus from our accommodation. Tickets can be booked on the spot with them for Rs.225 per person.
If you want window seats it is good to board the bus from Madgaon as the buses start from there and then go to Colva.
Local buses going to Madgaon and to Colva beach pass through the bus stand near our building every 15 mins. The ticket price to go to Madgaon town in a local bus is Rs.10 and to Colva beach it's Rs.8 per person.

Some quotes from The Holy Bible:
- Pile your troubles on God's shoulders - He'll carry your load, He'll help you out. He'll never let good people topple into ruin (Psalm 55:22).

- If your heart is broken, you'll find God right there; if you're kicked in the gut, He'll help you catch your breath (Psalm 34:18)

- The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning (Lamentations 3:22,23).

- Delight yourself in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

- I tell you not to worry about everyday life - whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? (Lord Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34)
